Hello
again [[firstname]],
Here's a new Cigarettes Savings Update for you.
I hope it will inform you, be financially
beneficial, and perhaps even amuse you at times.
Well organized and financed anti-smoker hysteria
continues apace, and massive Cigarettes Tax Increases
seem imminent in New York and Massachusetts.
Other states are also planning to get a piece
of the action.
Happily for SSO members, increases in state
cigarette taxes NEVER have an effect on them.
And state tax agencies can NEVER EVER know anything
whatsoeverl about their tobacco purchases.
Do you know these SSO facts?

BAD Cigarette Tax States -
Please help: As we get more information we add
to the list. If you know a state that is not
on our list and that is actively pursuing taxes
from online tobacco sales, please let us know
about it so our list can be as complete as possible.
These states are known to be aggressive
in going after smokers in order to squeeze cigarettes
taxes from them, sending Tax
Statements out of the blue. These are the lands
of the Bad Tax Surprise, and if you are in one
of them YOU NEED PRIVACY like you need air:
- California
- Illinois
- Massachusetts
- Michigan

Massachusetts:
Aggressive Cigs Tax Collectors -
The following items are from a Cape Cod Times
article. The upshot is that smokers in Massachusetts.
MUST protect their privacy when buying smokes
online to ensure they don't get a massive tax
bill from this tax-hungry state!
Since 2002, the state has collected $7.1
million in cigarette excise taxes from Internet
or mail order sales.
Using improved data methods, the state
collected $2.4 million in the most recent
six-month period ending in January.

the Cape Cod Times:

Please: If you know any smokers in Mass -
or in any of the states listed above! - please
do them a favor and forward this mail to them.

The Myopic Media -
Meanwhile, the
Massachusetts. media is howling that Big
Tobacco is behind efforts to stop the planned
$1.00 per pack tax increase. Duhhh, well what
could be more natural than that?
Of course, that same media is
as silent as death about the immensely rich
forces that are behind the smoking bans, the
bs junk science that "supports" them, the psychological
warfare against smokers, and the grossly unfair
tax attacks on smokers.
Who's that, who's behind it? The Pharmaceutical
Industrial Complex.
That's right, Big Pharma is paying millions
for the junk science that demonizes smokers and
supports the bans. They pour big money into this
new social engineering, and they fund the movement
for unjust anti-smoker tax increases. Check this
out, and be sure to follow the links. . .
Pharmaceutical Nicotine:
Makers
fund smoking
bans to promote megaprofits.
Johnson & Johnson, the maker of Nicoderm,
spent $7.7M lobbying lawmakers last
year.
That's bad enough, but that story neglects
to mention the $446 million that J & J's
political arm, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
(RWJF), spent to implement smoking bans that
would increase sales of Nicoderm and Nicoderm
CQ. Insiders speculate this will be a $4.6
billion annual
business thanks to the smoking ban laws they
financed.
It's no accident that's there's no
law against paying for the junk science, exaggerations,
and lies that help to enact such unnecessary
discriminatory laws that prop up product sales
and inflate profits thru government mandates.

Depression and Suicide LINKED to Drugs for
Quitting Cigarettes -
There's that term again: LINKED. The anti-smoking
forces and their compliant media love to routinely
use that deeply misleading term - linked. You've
seen it and heard it a thousand times: "Smoking
linked to (fill in the blank, the crazier the
better)." But there is always a question
- if you pay attention: "Linked" how,
by what, by whom, how meaningfully, how doubtfully??
In the end, you can "link" just about anything
to anything. . .
But there it is, once again, and this link is
a meaningful and deep one. Try this on:
Problems associated with drugs like the antismoking
medication Chantix -- a Pfizer drug linked
to numerous suicide attempts -- has led to
concerns that the drugs block feelings of pleasure
as well as craving for drugs.
- from the virulently anti-smoking join
together
New pills work in a novel way, by blocking
pleasure centers in the brain that provide
the feel-good response from smoking. Now it
seems the drugs may block pleasure too well,
possibly raising the risk of depression and
suicide.

article
